Sidnie White Crawford, Willa Cather Professor of Classics and Religious Studies, was awarded a D.Theol honoris causa by the Faculty of Theology at the Conferment Ceremony at Uppsala University in Sweden on January 26.
The ceremony included a banquet in the Hall of State at Uppsala Castle, which nearly 700 people usually attend.
In addition to a diploma, all doctors receive two other "symbols of honour": a ring, and a hat or laurel wreath.
